Hello boys!! 

We were learning about the Great Indian Desert. We learnt about the climate in previous class and today we will know about the vegetation and wildlife in Thar desert. 

The Great Indian desert is also called the Thar desert.

You must be thinking that what is the meaning of vegetation?

Vegetation is a general term for plants of a particular area. Due to very less rainfall and scarcity of water, vegetation in Thar is scanty.

(scanty means small or insufficient in quantity or amount)

Alright!! So now you know about the plants of the desert. Plants like cactus, keekar and babul grow here as they require less water. They have long roots that reach the deep underground water.

We've also learnt about the oasis in the video. An oasis is a fertile spot in the desert where water is found.
